Resilience in Adversity: Standing Together in 2020

We are here once again to share Muriel Thomson’s annual newsletter for 2020.

Despite the unprecedented challenges brought by the global pandemic and subsequent lockdowns, the commitment to the children across Southern India remained steadfast in 2020. Continuous support provided essential hostel care, English-medium education, and medical care to orphaned and semi-orphaned children. Relief efforts quickly adapted to the crisis, ensuring that vulnerable families received necessary supplies during the lockdown.

Key Achievements:

  • Vital relief packages were distributed to families affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in rural villages.

  • Twelve older children from the St. Joseph Centre received funding for their college fees.

  • New bedding was supplied for all the children residing at the CHES Home.

  • Health Awareness Programmes focusing on personal hygiene and disease prevention were delivered to rural students.
